Workforce Education and Training (WET) Scholarship Program

Marin County’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) is pleased to announce the opening of Mental Health Services Act’s Workforce Education and Training (WET) Scholarship Program! The purpose of the scholarship program is to provide financial support to qualifying Marin County residents with lived experience (mental health or substance use consumers or their loved ones in a care taking capacity)  who are interested in becoming a part of the county’s behavioral healthcare workforce as certified peer counselors/specialists, substance use and/or domestic violence counselors.

Scholarship Application--Please complete and submit the application and a letter of recommendation

Scholarship Budget Request form—Please complete and submit this form with the application and letter of recommendation if you have already determined your coursework and the school or vocational training course where you plan to attend.

ORIENTATION – April 6, 2018

A scholarship award program orientation is scheduled on Friday, April 6, 2018, between 1-2pm am, at 20 North San Pedro Road, San Rafael, CA. 94903. Attendance at this meeting is NOT required in order to qualify or get awarded a scholarship. However, it is highly recommended that you attend if you still have questions about the program.

DEADLINE – April 13, 2018

Deadline to submit your application is Friday, April 13, 2018 at 3:00pm. Upon receipt of the application, you will be contacted by our office staff to set up a brief 30 minute informational interview with the program manager, Cesar Lagleva, to determine your eligibility, readiness and commitment to the program. Interviews will be conducted on the week of April 16, 2018

Scholarship awards will be announced on the week of April 23, 2018.
